‘Angelina’ Sedum

Sedum rupestre 'Angelina'

‘Angelina’ stonecrop is a vigorous, mat-forming succulent perennial highly valued for its striking, needle-like foliage that changes color throughout the seasons. The leaves emerge chartreuse or golden yellow in spring and summer, intensify to bright gold in full sun, and take on rich ginger-brown, orange, or reddish tones in cooler autumn and winter months, providing year-round interest. This cultivar forms a dense carpet, making it an excellent, fast-spreading groundcover that is highly tolerant of heat, drought, and poor, rocky soils. In summer, clusters of small, star-shaped yellow flowers bloom just above the foliage, attracting bees and butterflies

Notes

Pruning: Cut back spent flower stems in late winter or early spring. Pinching new spring growth can result in a more compact plant.

Fertilizing: Generally unnecessary; avoid overly rich or fertile soils, which can lead to weak growth.

Maintenance: Extremely low maintenance and easy to grow, provided it has good drainage and sun.

Habitat: Excellent for rock gardens, green roofs, containers, hanging baskets, or draping over stone walls.

Other: The leaves fall off easily, but these fallen leaves can be used to easily propagate new plants.
